CheckMate's founder, Drew Patterson, is an innovator and entrepreneur, applying technology to reshape the travel industry and enhance the hotel guest’s experience. CheckMate uses mobile technology to extend their relationship with guests beyond the walls of the hotel, so guests can check-in and interact with the hotel on a smart phone and hotels get notifications as a guest is arriving at the hotel.
Patterson also serves as CEO of hotel search engine Room 77, which has the most comprehensive index of hotel pricing and industry-leading technology that lets travelers see the view from their hotel room before they even arrive. Room 77 acquired CheckMate in April 2013 when Patterson was named CEO.
Previously, Patterson was co-founder and CEO Jetsetter, the leading private sale site that helps travelers discover and purchase the world’s best vacations. After starting the business in 2009, he grew the company from an idea to nearly $100 million annual bookings run rate.
Prior to Jetsetter, Patterson was part of the founding team at KAYAK and served in a variety of key leadership roles from 2004 to 2009. As VP Marketing, he helped grow KAYAK to become the leading travel search engine in the industry. He began his career at Starwood Hotels as director of distribution and revenue management, where he forged the first generation of online distribution partnerships with Priceline and Expedia and established Starwood’s Best Rate Guarantee program to strengthen the Starwood brands.
Patterson received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University before earning his Masters Degree in Business from Columbia Business School. He currently serves on the board of Trippy.com.
